Choose from basic and versatile BC jade beads, plus exotic Maori-style BC jade pendants, both in a beautiful, mossy, medium-green color. The "B.C." stands for British Columbia, which is where real BC jade (a true nephrite jade) is mined. There is an ample supply of this nephrite jade in the Canadian mines, and stock that we know to be actual British Columbian jade, we have labeled with a "C" (for Canada) at the end of the stock number. Because we can't always know the original source of our gemstones, however, some of the semiprecious beads labeled "BC jade" (without the C in the stock number) might actually be dyed "white jade", "new jade" (a serpentine), or "Taiwan jade" (another true nephrite jade). Without extensive testing, it is difficult to tell the difference between these stones.
